These photographs showcase the innovation and creativity the brothers employed to be able to capture, for the first time, birds actually on their nests. When they initially told friends and associates of their intentions, the response was that it would be impossible to do so given that birds are so nervous and wary of humans.

Cherry Kearton is often described as the man who invented wildlife photography and was a true pioneer in every sense. His tireless travelling and filming brought home photographs and film footage of animals never seen before, which he hoped would inspire future generations to have passion and interest for the natural world. . . . . and many did, including David Attenborough who was deeply influenced by watching Cherry’s films as a young boy.
